Understanding Frost Delays at Jester Park
Here at Jester Park you may have at some point in late fall through early spring experienced a frost delay. Frost delays are issued by the golf course maintenance department for a couple key reasons. Frost is essentially water (typically in the form of dew) that has crystalized on the turf. Since turfgrass is mainly composed of water, the internal systems of the plant can also freeze. Frost damage occurs when an object (person walking, golf cart, etc.) crosses over frozen turfgrass and crushes the delicate internal components of the plant. Frost damaged grass blades will begin to discolor/die within 1-3 days after damage occurs. This damage will have negative effects on the playing surfaces of the golf course. Weakening and thinning of the playing surface could result. At Jester Park Golf Course we strive to maintain a sustainable, healthy playing surface for all our guests. The staff at Jester Park Golf Course appreciates your patience and consideration when experiencing a frost delay!

Improved work bench in the shop
I used to have all my fasteners stored under my main work bench. There was a lot of wasted space so this is what I came up with, drawers and doors to better organize and keep things out of sight. It has definitely made a difference.
Finished Product |
Bolt bins moved out into new location on left and making room for organization! |
Partitions and doors built and installed. There is shelving behind the doors for storage. |
A look at the drawers up close, this was my first attempt at building/installing drawers. The results are pleasing. Built out of 3/4 plywood with rabbits and a dado for the bottom panel which is also 3/4 |
